President Ruto Nominates Former IEBC Chair to Lead IPOA

President William Ruto on Tuesday, November 12, made several fresh key state appointments to government agencies, making ex-chair of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to lead the Independent Policing Oversight Authority(IPOA).

Ahmed Issack Hassan, who worked as the chair of IEBC in the country, found himself highly favored in the new appointments made by the Head of State, getting called upon to lead the independent body, but this time on policing and oversight.

Backing his appointments, President Ruto noted that Mr. Hassan posseses genuine qualifications for the position, attributing it to a wealth of experience in the policing and legal field that Hassan prides himself with.

The nominee is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with 30 years’ experience as a legal practitioner and consultant in various countries including Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Namibia, and Afghanistan,” stated the President.

Mr. Hassan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from the University of Nairobi, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and a Diploma in Contemporary Public Administration Management from Galilee International Management Institute, Israel.” He added
