President Ruto Calls On Global Partners to Accelerate Their Contributions To Sustain Haiti Mission

President William Ruto has called on global partners to adjust their commitment as a way to sustain and expand peace restoration mission in Haiti. The Head of State emphasized on the need for a stable, peaceful and secure Haiti saying the entire globe aims to enjoy the fruits of peace-building mission currently executed by Kenyan hundreds of police officers in Haiti.

During a joint media briefing with Prime Minister of Haiti Garry Conille, at State House, in Nairobi, Ruto also acknowledged the efforts that Kenya has made in ensuring that Haiti remains a calm nation.

“Kenya and Haiti stand united in imploring the international community to rally behind the Multinational Security Support Mission.” He stated, adding that, “for a peaceful, stable and secure Haiti, our global partners must also accelerate their contribution to the personnel, logistics and finances to sustain and expand the mission.”

He further thanked other countries like Benin, Chad, Bangladesh among others, that have also demonstrated their willingness to join a force that will battle against terrorists dismantling peace in Haiti

Hours after holding a successful press briefing, Ruto took to his socials to also confirm on joint mission by Kenya and Haiti, aiming to boost tourism sector in both countries.

“Earlier at a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister, discussed practical measures to boost tourism and people-to-people relations between our two countries.” Read in part of his Facebook post.
