The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has announced repeat grassroots elections in select regions following concerns raised over recent polls. The party’s Central Committee, meeting under the leadership of Party Leader Raila Odinga, resolved to hold repeat elections in Kwale, Taita Taveta, and Kileleshwa Ward in Dagoretti North, Nairobi County between August 11 and August 15, 2025.
This follows the adoption of a report by the National Elections Coordinating Committee (NECC), which had overseen the sub-branch and branch-level elections conducted across the country between April 9 and 11, 2025. While the NECC was commended for delivering peaceful and credible elections, the Central Committee found that irregularities in the three areas warranted a full repeat from the polling unit to branch level.
In addition to the electoral resolution, the party adopted plans for its 20th Anniversary celebrations, dubbed ODM@20. The events will take place across the country and culminate in a national celebration in October 2025, aimed at reflecting on ODM’s legacy, achievements, and its direction heading toward the 2027 General Election.
The Committee also scheduled October 2025 for the National Delegates Convention (NDC), where key decisions on party policy, leadership, and election strategy will be made.
