According to the accusations, John Mwangi Wangari was murdered in Kangemi, Nyeri County, on February 12, 2023, by Ann Christine Wambui, Lawrence Turanga Wachira, and other individuals who were not present in court. The two appeared before Martin Muya of the Nyeri High Court and entered a not guilty plea.
The two were represented by attorney Kimani Njuguna, who asked the court for access to the records that the prosecution will use as evidence. Additionally, he begged the judge to set a reasonable bond for the suspects’ release. On a bail for Sh1 million each and one surety for the same sum each, Justice Muya released them.
On October 9, 2023, the case will be heard in court.
