MCAs To Question Siaya Deputy Governor On Comments He Made About Orengo.

On April 14, Siaya Deputy Governor William Oduol is scheduled to address the county legislature.

This comes after the assembly approved a proposal to summon Oduol, put out by Yimbo East MCA Francis Otiato. On March 23, the parliament passed the motion after six MCAs from the Alego-Usonga constituency abstained from the debate.

The six MCAs made the decision to leave in support of Oduol, an Alego-Usonga native.

Oduol is anticipated to come before the committee of General Oversight for questioning by the ward representatives, according to a letter dated March 28 that was copied to Speaker George Okode and Governor James Orengo. The deputy governor is required to present documentary evidence to back up his statements on governor Orengo and his administration, according to the letter obtained by the Star.

Sylvester Madialo (Usonga), James Obiero Otare (Siaya Township), David Ababa Ragen (Central Alego), Masidis Madowo (South East Alego), Vincent Odawa (North Alego), and Felix Okumu were among the MCAs who staged a walkout to protest the debate on March 23. (West Alego).

The MCAs want Oduol to clarify his comments that Orengo’s government will be worse than that of his predecessor, which he made on social media channels. Oduol’s remarks regarding Orengo’s purported claims of a hands-off administration are among the MCAs’ other worries.

In the motion, Oduol also accused Orengo of allegedly supervising a discriminatory budget reallocation that favored inhabitants of Alego-Usonga.
