Azimio principal who doubles up as NARC Party leader has come out to question the role of the police in recruiting goons and giving instructions to them, as seen in the photo that has gone viral.
In a photo that has since gone viral, several individuals armed with batons were seen receiving instructions from an unknown person in Kericho, opposite the County Assembly.
The image has raised concerns about the intentions of the youth, as peaceful demonstrators took to the streets.According to Martha Karua, this is wrong, and President William Ruto must heed the call of the protesters to ensure peace and unity in the country.
“What are the police doing with goons?” asked Martha Karua.
Several counties have witnessed protests, with many youth getting injured in what they term police brutality, while others claim that injuries were caused by rubber bullets and tear gas canisters.
In Nairobi, youth barricaded major streets, including Moi Avenue and Kenyatta Avenue, as police tried to disperse them and prevent them from causing chaos in the city. In Kakamega and Kericho, youth overpowered the hired goons and ensured that their peaceful protests were successful.
