A guy was given a life sentence for attacking Kennedy Ochieng and causing great bodily harm to him.
According to Tamu Senior Principal Magistrate P.K. Rugut, Erick Onyango’s actions violated Section 234 of the Penal Code. The court found Onyango guilty of using a panga to assault the plaintiff. Onyango slashed the complainant severely on his neck, hip, and right arm.
Due to the severity of the injuries, the complainant’s right hand had to eventually be amputated. Six prosecution witnesses were given by the prosecution, which was led by Beatrice Chelangat, and whose testimonies detailed how the crime was done.
The testimony of the witnesses, the effect of the crime on the victim’s life, which has been made incapacitated, as well as the aggravating circumstances of the case, all influenced the Magistrate’s decision.
