Kimani Ichung’wah Says The President Has Not Met Or Spoken With Raila Odinga

National assembly majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah has said that President William Ruto and Opposition leader Raila Odinga have not yet spoken or met.

While speaking to the media on Monday, 3 April, Ichung’wah affirmed that the current truce has absolutely nothing to do with a handshake and that the bipartisan approach will be totally hellbent to the interests of Kenyans.

“I can confirm the President has not even met with Raila Odinga, he has not even spoken with him leave alone handshake,I can confirm to you that there is no handshake.” He said.

“We are looking at a bipartisan approach above partisan approach that could be leaning towards one side or other.” Ichung’wah added.

His statement comes after the President urged Raila to halt the protests and give room for talks that could lead to peaceful resolutions.

“I urge Raila and the opposition to call off the demonstration and give bi- partisan approach for us to take Kenya forward,” stated Ruto.

Raila on his side gave an ear to the President’s call and a time frame condition for the execution of the President’s proposed resolution approach.

“We are ready to engage and we will engage without any form of corruption and this process should start as early as tomorrow (monday),” he said on Sunday.
