Kenya Organizes Campaign Strategy For Raila’s AUC Bid

Kenya has prepared strategic plans that seek to help their candidate Raila Odinga to emerge victorious in the forth coming elections for the contested position of Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC). The elections are scheduled for February 5, 2024 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The strategy involves a series of organized meetings aiming to provide a platform for the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to directly engage the African Heads of various States, by selling out his ideologies to them.

Two months after his earlier campaign event held in Nairobi on August 27, where he officially launched his AUC ambitions, Raila is expected to visit Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on November 8 to officially launch his campaign in African Union (AU) headquarters.

Speaking regarding their preparedness for their visitation to Ethiopia, Mr Odinga’s campaign team affirmed that plans are underway to finalize preparations for November’s launch event.

However, Odinga will attend the Energy Conference in Cape Town, South Africa on November 5, three days before the campaign launch at Addis Ababa. His visit to Cape Town is expected to lure the South African side to rally behind his candidature.

Thereafter, he will fly outside the continent to attend COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 16 to November 20, where he is likely to meet a number of African heads he expects to sell his candidature to, as well.
