The Jubilee Party has delivered a sharp critique of President William Ruto’s administration in its end-of-year message, accusing it of corruption, incompetence, and neglect. In a statement released by Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni, the party highlighted the administration’s failures in critical sectors such as healthcare and education, describing them as deliberate outcomes of poor governance.
“2024 exposed the failures of systems meant to uplift and protect us. These failures stem from neglect, incompetence, and corruption,” Kioni said. “This regime has stolen the future of our next generation and is beyond redemption.”
The party also condemned the Kenya Kwanza government for heavy-handedness in dealing with peaceful protests. Kioni cited instances of state-sanctioned abductions and the fatal shooting of demonstrators, saying such actions had left deep scars on the nation. “Our nation has endured the senseless killings of protesters demanding justice and equality. We have seen abductions designed to silence dissent. Such actions strike fear into those speaking truth to power,” he remarked.
Kioni vowed that the Jubilee Party would relentlessly pursue accountability for public officials accused of abusing power, insisting that justice must prevail to restore hope and integrity in the country. “Leadership is a responsibility, not a privilege to exploit. Impunity must end, and those who abuse their positions must face justice,” he said.
He called on Kenyans to remain united and steadfast as the opposition intensifies efforts to hold the government accountable and heal the social fabric of the nation.
President Ruto, in his own end-of-year remarks, expressed optimism for 2025, citing progress made despite challenges beyond his control. He assured Kenyans that the government’s interventions would help the country recover and thrive in the coming year. The contrasting messages highlight the tense political climate as the new year begins.
