Dennis Itumbi, the ICT’s chief administrative secretary, has denied reports that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was humiliated during meetings on Sunday that resulted in the cancellation of protests by Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga.
Itumbi stated that DP Gachagua was at the center of discussions and had not been ignored by President William Ruto in a statement on Monday. He added that the statement that President Ruto read was written with input from the Second in Command.
Itumbi stated that Riggy G, along with seven other people whose names I will not mention, “was in the room the entire afternoon and he in-fact participated in the decision and in making the final statement.”

“Kenya is a country of the rule of law,” he continued. Violence and property destruction have no place in our nation. Under President William Ruto’s direction, it will never be permitted, either now or in the future.
