Isaac Mwaura Speaks Out After Missing President Ruto’s Appointments

Former Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura has finally spoken out about skipping a state assignment under the Kenya Kwanza administration. The former nominee Senator indicated in a Monday, January 23, evening interview with NTV that he will continue to support Ruto even though he has not yet been offered a position in the cabinet.

“I’ll leave that up to Ruto because he has the authority to select anyone he thinks is right in that situation.

I am devoted to UDA. When I was running for the MP position, I registered 17,000 individuals, created two offices, and hired four people to work for UDA, he claimed. Mwaura admitted that backing Ruto had cost him significantly in both his personal and professional lives.

“I was actually expelled from the Senate for endorsing UDA, which caused a great deal of difficulties. I spent seven months away from the Senate, appeared in court more than 30 times, and was charged in seven different cases. I underwent all of this because I thought Ruto’s administration deserved it, and I am grateful that Ruto is Kenya’s president, Mwaura said.

He added that he entered politics when he was young and would never be moved by anything.

He said, “I received my first government employment at the age of 22, during the first semester of my second year at Kenyatta University. Mwaura was originally put forward as a special interest group representative by the ODM party in 2013.

He was selected as a Nominated Senator by the Jubilee party in 2017. Mwaura applied for the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) position following the 2022 general elections but was defeated by Azimio’s Fatuma Gedi.

In the National Assembly, when Kenya Kwanza won the majority of the seats, he too missed out on being nominated.
