Ichungwah Briefs Zani-Led Oversight Committee on Progress of 10-Point Agenda and NADCO Reforms

National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwah on Thursday appeared before the Committee Overseeing the Implementation of the 10-Point Agenda and the NADCO Report, presenting one of the most comprehensive updates since the reform process began.

The session was chaired by Senator Agnes Zani, with Javas Bigambo serving as Vice Chair, and brought together legislators keen on assessing the pace and quality of the country’s ongoing reform commitments.Ichungwah delivered a structured briefing detailing the government’s progress in aligning parliamentary business with the reform roadmap agreed upon during the national dialogue process.

He noted that several proposals drawn from the NADCO recommendations had already been forwarded to relevant departmental committees, while others were undergoing drafting and technical review at the Attorney-General’s office.

According to him, Parliament remains committed to ensuring that legislative reforms tied to governance, electoral processes, and institutional strengthening move forward without undue delay.Members of the committee engaged the Majority Leader on multiple fronts, including the status of inter-agency coordination, timelines for pending reforms, and the mechanisms put in place to ensure transparency during implementation.
