Francis Atwoli Congratulates Ruto As COTU Seeks To Work With The New Administration

Central Organization of Traders Union (COTU) headed by secretary general Dr. Francis Atwoli today joined Kenyans in celebrating the fifth President of Kenya William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua.

Atwoli noted that the Central Organisation of Trade Unions is ready to work with the new administration of President Ruto together with all Kenyans in order to reach a full reconciliation for a united Kenya and for the rights and welfare of Kenyan workers.

“As it has been our tradition to work with the government of the day which provides an environment where workers through COTU (K), employers through FKE and the government through Ministry of Labor work in tripartite structure COTU (K) remains ready to work with the administration of President William Ruto.” Read.

The controversial trade unionist who was a die hard supporter of Ruto’s closest rival in the August election, observed that at times Kenyans failed to move in one direction and those who suffer most have been workers, women and children. Therefore, he appealed to end political division as we build a united and prosperous nation.

In his statement, he believed that mechanisms put in place by Ruto would not only spur economic growth but also improve the terms and conditions of workers, saying they must be taken serious as they plant a sense hope in Kenyans.

“In his inaugural speech, President Ruto was full of reconciliation and hope and we associate ourselves with his resolution and assurance of working with all Kenyans from the political divide in building a united and prosperous Kenya,” Atwoli added.
