The situation in Mathare has worsened with the deployment of additional officers after two people were shot.
As the Azimio protesters continued, the anti-riot police resorted to using gunfire when they exhausted their tear gas supply. In Nakuru’s Shabaab area, the number of protesters has surged, leading the police to request reinforcements. In an attempt to restore peace, more anti-riot police officers have been dispatched to the affected areas.
