Dorcas Gachagua Urges Self-Affirmation and Independence from Validation

During the Sikika Youth Festival, Dorcas Gachagua, the wife of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, encouraged Kenyans to develop the habit of self-affirmation instead of relying on others for validation.

Dorcas emphasized that she doesn’t depend on her husband to affirm her, as he has his own challenges. She shared that she personally speaks positively and affirms herself, starting each day by looking in the mirror and acknowledging her beauty.

Dorcas also acknowledged that people have different perspectives and may misunderstand each other. She stressed the significance of individuals understanding their own identity, valuing themselves, and not waiting for others to provide love and acceptance.

Dorcas emphasized that happiness and joy come from within, as God has placed them inside every person. By deeply loving oneself, she believed there is nothing that cannot be accomplished. Dorcas concluded by expressing her independence from the affirmation of others, stating that she doesn’t wait for external validation.

Her message encouraged individuals to embrace self-love and recognize their own worth, ultimately empowering them to overcome obstacles and achieve success.
