Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Urges Use of Huduma Centres

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has urged citizens to make use of the facilities provided at Huduma Centres across the country. During the launch of the Makutano Huduma Centre in Ngobit, Laikipia East, Laikipia County, Gachagua emphasized the significance of such centers, noting that they streamline the process of accessing various government services under one roof.

Gachagua, who expressed satisfaction with the services offered at the Makutano facility, revealed that his National Identification Card is underway, thanks to the efficient operations of the Huduma Centre. He underscored the importance of such centers in catering to the needs of over 500,000 residents of Laikipia and neighboring counties, where access to similar facilities is limited.

Highlighting the growing demand for government services, Gachagua revealed that the Makutano Huduma Centre has already assisted over 1,100 customers since February 1st, further emphasizing the crucial role these centers play in meeting the public’s needs.

Furthermore, the Deputy President called upon both county and national governments to collaborate in relocating their services to Huduma Centres, facilitating easier access for citizens. With an average of 60,000 people accessing services daily across these centers, Gachagua stressed the importance of maximizing their utility to serve the populace effectively.

In addition to advocating for the expansion of physical Huduma Centres, Gachagua proposed the establishment of Huduma Jitume Digital Centres through a co-funding model between constituencies and the national government. He asserted that such initiatives would not only bolster job creation but also align with the government’s efforts to invest in education and subsequently provide employment opportunities for the youth.

“As we strive to establish 30 Huduma Jitume Digital Centres within the next 12 months, we are committed to ensuring that the same investment made in educating our youth translates into tangible employment opportunities,” Gachagua affirmed.

Moreover, Gachagua urged leaders and the community to collaborate with security agencies and National Government Administration Officers to address insecurity in Laikipia. Recognizing security as a catalyst for development, he emphasized the importance of collective efforts towards achieving sustainable peace in the region.

Additionally, Gachagua directed the County Commissioner and Police Commander to intensify efforts in eradicating illicit alcohol, drug, and substance abuse, further underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering a secure and prosperous environment for all citizens.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s call to utilize Huduma Centres reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing service delivery and promoting socio-economic development across Kenya. With a focus on inclusivity and collaboration, the government aims to empower citizens and create a conducive environment for growth and prosperity.
