DCI Detectives Recover Suspected Cocaine Pellets in Buruburu

DCI sleuths have yet again recovered narcotics suspected to be cocaine in Buruburu today as the crackdown on illegal drug trafficking in the city continues.

According to reports, during the operation conducted this morning, the Anti-Narcotics Unit raided a house at Harambee Estate, Buruburu, and recovered 18 pellets of the highly addictive drug. Also seized during the 6 a.m. raid were stashed cash in Kenya shillings and foreign currency, believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking. The cash included $12,601 USD, €15 Euros, Sh509, 495, Tsh24,000, and 10,000 Angolan Kwanza. 

Cocaine Pellets discovered by Anti-Narcotics Unit

“Two suspects, Curtis Muli and Teresa Achieng, were also arrested during the raid. The search was extended to an adjacent house believed to be a stash house within the same area, where 3 test tubes, a digital weighing machine, and an ID card belonging to Curtis Muli Mutuku were recovered.” said DCI in a statement.

This comes a day after a consignment of cannabis sativa and Sh13.4 Million in cash were recovered yesterday, following an intelligence-led operation conducted by detectives in Ngara neighborhood, Nairobi. The suspects have been taken to custody for further questioning pending arraignment in court tomorrow.
