CS Land Alice Wahome on Wednesday 30 skipped appearing before the Senate plenary, failing to honour summon to present herself before the house to respond to questions in her docket. The CS, however, sent an apology to the Senate citing circumstance of illness that have barred her from appearing before the chambers.
Confirming Wahome’s apology, Senate speaker Amason Kingi, said he received the information in prior on the unavailability of the CS from the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Lands Nixon Korir, that the CS had suffered swollen eyes prompting her to seek optical surgery since she could not have clear sight.

”I had a phone call discussion principal secretary in the ministry who explained what the problem is. The honourable CS underwent eye surgery three days ago but by yesterday, she was willing to appear today but woke up with a swollen eye this morning, she cannot even see,’’ Kingi told the lawmakers.
He mentioned that the reason given by the CS was valid asking the lawmakers to agree to defer Wahome’s questioning session to a later date, even as they proceed with their interrogations for CS Education Julius Ogamba, who was to appear alongside Alice Wahome for Land, before the Senate panel.
”That is a very valid reason honourable members, and I think that we will have to defer all the questions that were supposed to be responded to by the CS. That leaves us with only the CS of Education whom am told is present,” the Speaker directed
