Court Stops FKF Elections Scheduled for Saturday

Kitui High Court has on Friday, November 8, halted the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) branch elections scheduled for Saturday, following a petition filed by a group identified as Kenya Football Association, which claims to be the rightful body supposed to oversee the elections.

Consequently, the Kitui High Court has issued orders to block the elections slated on Saturday November 9, across the 48 branches in all the 47 counties countrywide.

Confirming the court ruling via their social media post, the FKF Elections Board announced that they are abiding with the court verdict to suspend the expected elections.

However, this is only effective at the Kitui FKF branch and won’t affect the plans to conduct elections in the other FKF branches countrywide.

There are a number of counties where FKF will not have to conduct polls because the candidates have run themselves without facing an opposition for the positions of Chair and their running mates. These counties include; Baringo, Siaya, Homa Bay, Tharaka Nithi, Kirinyaga, Makueni, Mandera, Nakuru, Samburu, Tana River and Trans-Nzoia.
