Nairobi county government has promptly acted on the management board of Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital after a disturbing video of a woman delivering on floor goes viral.
The expectant woman, 26-year-old, reportedly arrived at the facility on Saturday, 15 April at 5:20pm complaining of intensive pain at the lower abdomen that quickly spread on her back. The doctors on response, advised to run ultrasound sound scanning since the expectant mother reported that she could not feel any movement of her baby in the womb. “The medical team showed the patient the baby and informed her that it had passed away 2-3 before delivery and her visit to the hospital,” read in the facility’s statement.
The City boss Hon. Johnson Sakaja, however, noted that there could have been countless better ways to handle the incident, showing discontent on how the hospital’s medical team responded to the situation.
In regards, he appointed 8-new faces on the Management Board with Ms. Dorcas Kemunto receiving the honour as the board’s new Chair and Dr. Bernard Gituma getting recognition as the new board’s Secretary.
