Azimio la Umoja One Kenyaparty leader Raila Odinga has supported President William Rutos Pledge during his joint media interview to probe how the August 9 polls were conducted and the various events that transpired at the Bomas of Kenya.
Speaking in Mombasa on Friday, the opposition leader emphasized on the importance of puting to light what happened at the Bomas during the announcement of the presidential results.
“Juzi ulisikia wakisema wabunge upande ule ati uchunguzi ufanyike kuhusu Bomas of Kenya…mimi nasema alham dulilahi…wamechukua wale commissioners 4 ati wanashtakiwa walifanya maovu,” he said.
Raila says the investigation should be hellbent on the former IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati and not the four embattled commissioners.
According to the Azimio leader, Chebukati should also be tried and charged at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague failure to which the 2027 general election will not be conducted.
“Mpaka tusafishe takataka ya Chebukati, yale amefanya ni crime against humanity anafaa apelekwe Hague ashatakiwe huko….kama haitafanyika hakutakuwa na haja Wakenya 2027 waende uchaguzi,” he opined.
