About the impending demonstrations on Monday and Thursday, the Azimio La Umoja Coalition has written to the Nairobi Officer Commanding station.
The demonstration would start at dawn and end at dusk, Azimio Executive Council Chairperson Wycliffe Oparanya stated in the letter. The letter stated, “The processions will be held in the streets within your authority from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.”
The sessions, according to Oparanya, would serve the objective of submitting a written submission to the President at State House in Nairobi. Part of the letter said, “This is not an application for approval as none is envisioned under Article 37 of the Constitution.
The organization has additionally requested the OCS to send out enough police officers to ensure guests’ protection and practice crowd management. Both Monday, March 27 and Thursday, March 30 are set aside for the protests. The revised dates were announced by opposition leader Raila Odinga on Monday. He also stated that the team would not compromise until their demands were met.
