Angella Summer Wins 2022 ‘African Social Star’ In People’s Choice Awards

Ugandan TikToker, model and dancer Angella Summer Namubiru has been announced as the winner of the People’s Choice Awards under the category of African Social Star of 2022.

She was competing with top African stars among them Ama Qamata, Dr. Shauwn Mkhize, Juddyda Conceicao, Khanyi Mbau, Liquorose, Sphokuhle, and Swanky Jerry.

The musician who is also the co-founder of Blacare, an organization that works with village children and women on social issues. She wants to use social media tools to change how Africans are viewed globally. She is also one of the most followed Ugandans on TikTok, with over 5.7 million followers.

The People’s Choice Awards is an American awards show that recognises people in the entertainment world, looking at movies, TV, music and pop culture.The awards have been held annually since 1975 and this year the ceremony will be on December 7. This year’s voting started on October 26 and ended on November 9.
