Absa Bank Aims to Improve SMEs in South Nyanza Region

Absa Bank Kenya has installed its branch in Migori, relocating to a more central location believed to be very convenient for customers in region, who are looking for its financial services

Speaking during the official opening Absa Bank Kenya’s Consumer Banking Director, Moses Muthui expressed that the relocation was driven by feedback from staff and customers, who showed extreme need for enhanced modern financial services.

“I visited the former branch location, listened to feedback from our customers and colleagues, and I am proud to see all of you move to this pristine new location in the heart of the business district,” said Muthui.

With this move, entrenching Absa’s commitment to meeting customer needs with innovative solutions through its branch network and digital platforms, Absa underscores its willingness to putting the customer’s needs at heart, as their trusted partner for all financial needs.

Further, he stated; “We are re-committing ourselves to Migori town and county. At Absa, we are not here just to do business, we are here for the long term. Our commitment extends to environmental conservation, ICT, education, and literacy. We believe every story matters, and we value your feedback, which continues to challenge us to do more. We are here to stay and eager to hear from you.”

Expressing its continued commitment to supporting and investing in this critical sector across the country, the branch, known for its strong agricultural and agribusiness activities, looks forward to improve individual customers as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region.

SMEs contribute significantly to economic growth, accounting for 33.8% of the national output, according to the 2022 Kenya National Bureau of Statistics Economic Survey

With the addition of the Migori branch, Absa’s physical network now totals 86 branches. This year, the bank also expanded its presence by opening new branches in Kamakis, Ruiru, and Rupa’s Mall in Eldoret, as well as relocating the Imaara Mall branch from Southfield Mall to enhance service delivery.
