President William Ruto has put forward Anne Njoki Wang’ombe and Salome Wairimu Muhia-Beacco as nominees for Principal Secretary positions in the Kenyan government. Wang’ombe is being considered for the role of Principal Secretary in the State Department for Performance Management & Delivery Services, Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary. She has extensive experience in human resources and education, having worked in various capacities for organizations like the Kenya Revenue Authority Staff Pension Scheme and the Kenya Medical Research Institute. Wang’ombe holds a Master’s Degree in Education Administration & Planning from the University of Nairobi.
On the other hand, Muhia-Beacco has been nominated for the position of Principal Secretary in the State Department for Correctional Services, Ministry of Interior & National Administration. The nomination of Faith Njeri Harrison for the position of Principal Secretary, which was previously announced, has been rescinded, and the reasons behind this decision remain unclear. In addition, if approved by the National Assembly, Salome Wairimu Muhia-Beacco will replace Esther Ngero, who resigned in March shortly after being transferred from the State Department for Performance and Delivery Management.
