Ruto Informs Azimio That Wearing A Sufuria Will Not Reduce Unga Pricing

Regarding Azimio protesters who carry Sufuria’s on their heads while demonstrating, President William Ruto has spoken out.

Speaking at Ongata Rongai, he claimed that the act will not lead to a decrease in unga prices. At what point did you say, “Mimi nauliza wewe mtu ya Rongai, ata ukiweka sufuria kwa kichwa miaka tatu, bei ya unga itapungua?” Ruto enquired.

(I want to question the residents of Rongai if Sufuria were to be put on the head for three years, would the cost of Unga drop?)

He asked Kenyans to put development ahead of protests because that is what they expressed a desire for during the election. When asked, “Mimi nauliza nyinyi, wakati tulienda kupiga kura, tulisema kura ikimalizika tutaanza maandamano ama tutaanza maendeleo? Ruto exclaimed, “Si tulisema tuendelee na maendeleo.”

(I want to know if we discussed starting protests or developments on the day we cast our ballots. We advised moving forward with developments.)

The opposition, he continued, should cease upsetting Kenyans with protests. I’m Mimi, and I’m wawache mambo ya kutusumbua. Mimi kitendawili haitaanza niliwaambia. The kitendawili ya maandamano sasa hawa wanataka kutuletea.

(I wish to request that they cease bothering us. I advised them to refrain from beginning a riddle. They now intend to present puzzles disguised as demos.)

According to Wycliffe Oparanya, the leader of the Azimio National Executive Council, Azimio La Umoja is likely to start protests the following week.

On Tuesday, May 2, they stated that the nationwide demonstrations would get back up. They asserted that Ruto showed utter bad faith toward the bipartisan negotiations, which led to the restart of demonstrations.
