Veteran radio presenters, Kamene Goro and Shaffie Weru, have made a radio comeback after securing new roles at NRG radio where they will host a show every Friday.
In her Instagram account, Goro shared a post announcing their comeback. The two will be hosting a drive show, NRG Transit, every Friday from 3-7p.m. The duo will be accompanied by a female disc jockey, DJ Pierra Makena, in the show as she blends the different mixes to entertain their audiences.
“Good morning my loves!!!!!!!@shaffieweru @pierramakenaofficial do you think they are ready for this one?” Goro captioned the poster.
Goro’s fans congratulated her as most of them noted that they can’t wait for the show to go on air. The two personalities and the DJ are set to replace Mwalimu Rachel and DJ Xclusive.
Goro has made a radio comeback after she was forced to end her contract at Kiss FM in January. Weru has been out of the radio role for two years, that is, from 2021. He was fired from Homeboys Radio after making a controversial comment on air. Weru was forced to apologize for his remarks but that didn’t stop the company from terminating his contract.
Weru recently secured a new role as the branding and event management head at Governor Johnson Sakaja’s office. He also launched a podcast named ” Shafted” in January where he is set to host personalities whose behaviors led to their downfall. The genesis of the show was probably motivated by his actions which led to the termination of his contract at Homeboys Radio.
