According to Kimani Ichung’wah, the majority leader of the National Assembly, the government is now willing to talk with the opposition about the opening of IEBC servers.
Speaking in Nyeri County on Friday, April 21, the Kenya Kwanza said they were confident they would win the elections in 2022 and were not concerned about opening the servers. Ichung’wah said that discussing the server issue at rallies would be ineffective while also pleading with Azimio to bring up the matter in the bipartisan committee.
“Even the servers they want us to open, we want to listen to them. We have urged them to discuss the matter rather than making loud statements about it at rallies.
Ichung’wah stressed that they would not share power with the opposition at the same time. Bring all of your concerns to the table, with the exception of one that we are not yet prepared to discuss: shaking hands and sharing power. On August 9, Kenyans resolved that issue, he said.
Azimio’s requests for the servers had previously been rejected by the Kenya Kwanza administration, which was led by President William Ruto, on the grounds that the matter was not covered by the constitution.
