The governor of Machakos county Wavinya Ndeti, has vowed to collaborate with the government asking political detractors to cease politicizing her decision.
This, she said while hosting local Muslim community for an Iftar dinner hours after warmly receiving the Head of State in the commissioning of Mavoko Water and Sewerage Company (MAVWASCO) infrastructure project that took place in Athi River.
With the return of President Ruto expected on Sunday, Wavinya has announced giving herself fully to the current administration adding that the collaboration doesn’t alter her plans to develop the region she governs.
According to her, she has been mandated by the electorates from her region to ensure economic and social development, which she will only achieve by working closely with the national government.
She said, “I was elected by the residents of Machakos to promote development for social and economic transformation of the people and I must work with the national government to secure those benefits.”
She, moreover, described her attendance in Ruto’s commissioning today as that which shipped in with numerous benefits
“If I had failed to attend the president’s event in Athi River, I wouldn’t have secured additional funding for projects amounting to Ksh. 1billion that Ruto pledged to fund.” She added.
Her sentiments come amidst critics that she deeps fingers and head into the government, having had been elected by the Azimio ticket.
