Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has had time today explaining his comment he made few days ago over salon money given to wives.
The second in command, few days ago told the public that he is used to giving his wife Pastor Dorcas Rigathi a benefit of Ksh 3000 for salon.
“You have seen my wife, pastor Dorcas. I don’t have a lot of issues because she is a pastor. She does not have many needs, so even when I give her KSh 3,000 for hairdo, she is satisfied,” he commented a couple of days ago.
This sparkled a buzz online with lots of men even going ahead now to draft a budget they feel is suitable for salon money, with regards to monthly earnings of every man; this done in comparison with what the DP Rigathi earns as basic salary.
However, the vocal Deputy President has again come out to mark his sentiments in a clear black and white after sensing that his remarks were taken misleadingly.
According to him, his sincere confession that he gives his wife KSh 3,000 doesn’t mean that men should slash what they have been giving their partners.
He has asked men not to decrease their wives’ hair money saying it is a mutual agreement between people who pursue couple goals together.
Moreover, he told men that they’re free to give their lovely partner’s the hair allowances amounting to whichever figure they wish to give out.
Here is the quoted clarification he made.
“The KSh 3,000 that I talked about is for pastor Dorcas. Give your wife what you are used to giving. If you were giving her 10,000, continue. Some people are taking advantage just because I gave my wife KSh 3,000 now they want to slash it. The constitution does not even allow you to withdraw a benefit.”
