ODM Leader Oburu Odinga Admitted to Nairobi Hospital for Treatment

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Leader and Siaya Senator Dr. Oburu Odinga has been admitted to Nairobi Hospital for medical care.

Sources at the facility confirmed that the veteran politician has been receiving inpatient treatment since Saturday, October 3, for routine check-ups related to a chronic condition. The hospitalization comes barely two weeks after his return from London on September 25, where he spent three weeks undergoing specialized medical assessments and resting on the advice of his doctors and party leadership.

Before his recent admission, Homa Bay Governor and ODM National Chairperson Gladys Wanga visited the senator and reassured party supporters regarding his health.

“He is in high spirits and his health is being well managed,” Wanga said during a public update on Sunday, October 4. “We urge Kenyans to give him time to rest and fully recuperate as he continues to follow up on his recovery.”

Addressing party members prior to his care routines, Oburu emphasized that ODM’s institutional structures remain fully operational during his period of medical leave.

“As I attend to these personal health routine checks that naturally come with advancing years, I view taking this step back as a deliberate moment for our movement,” Oburu stated. “The party has robust leadership organs capable of handling affairs seamlessly.”

Party officials and political leaders across the country continue to extend messages of quick recovery to the Siaya lawmaker as he remains under observation.
