Nairobi, Kenya – Oye Kenya has today announced Stephen Kimakon as the top winner of its “Maisha Nikujituma” campaign, awarding him a brand new TVS 125cc motorcycle worth KSh 160,000. The prize package also included two helmets, two safety reflectors, and a complete toolbox.
Kimakon accumulated over 1,500 points by actively engaging with Oye Kenya’s digital platform, particularly through frequent fuel and lubricant purchases at Sahara Energies and Galana Energies stations. His dedication placed him ahead of thousands of riders participating in the loyalty-based initiative.
The “Maisha Nikujituma” campaign, meaning “life is about personal effort,” is Oye Kenya’s innovative rewards program aimed at empowering motorcycle taxi operators—commonly known as boda-boda riders—across the country. Riders earn points by transacting through Oye’s platform at partner fuel stations, reinforcing the company’s efforts to integrate the boda-boda sector into the formal economy.
Speaking during the award ceremony, a jubilant Kimakon expressed his gratitude: “I am very grateful to Oye Kenya for this amazing prize. To all my fellow riders, this is real. Engage with the platform and you too can win.”
Oye Kenya CEO and Co-Founder Kevin Mutiso highlighted the importance of partnerships in driving the campaign’s success. “This initiative has allowed us to aggregate demand from the boda-boda ecosystem into our partner stations for fuel, lubricants, and gas,” he said.
Oye Kenya continues to grow its footprint in financial services tailored for motorcycle taxi riders, aiming to boost economic inclusion and sustainability within the transport sector.
