Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has stated that Interior CS Kithure Kindiki is not fit to become deputy president if Rigathi Gachagua is impeached by the National Assembly.
The outspoken senator, in a post on his Twitter account, said that the Interior CS is not suitable for the role, as there are other great men from the mountain region who are better positioned to replace the embattled Rigathi Gachagua.
According to close sources, Gachagua may be ousted by MPs in the coming weeks.
“Hypothetically speaking, I have nothing against my friend Kindiki Kithure. I think he is a good guy, but not good enough to be deputy president! There are great men from the mountain region and other parts of Kenya who can independently, and in the interest of the nation, hold that office. Stop this tribal nonsense,” wrote Ledama.
This comes amid rumors that Kithure Kindiki, Kimani Ichung’wah, and Ndindi Nyoro are being considered for the position if it becomes vacant. However, Ledama believes Kindiki does not have the requisite qualifications to be deputy president.
Focus is now shifting to Parliament, as it appears poised to table charges against Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of gross misconduct, abuse of office, and sponsoring goons to infiltrate the Gen Z protests.
