Ministry of Health Confirms Two New Mpox Cases

The Ministry of Health has confirmed two new Mpox cases, one in Kajiado County and another in Makueni County. In a statement released by the ministry, the report brings the total number of Mpox cases across the country to seven.

The ministry also stated that 16,033 individuals have been screened, with samples taken for examination, contributing to a cumulative total of 100,221 travelers screened nationwide. Health officials continue to monitor the situation closely, aiming to prevent further spread of the virus.

In light of these new cases, the Ministry of Health is urging citizens to remain vigilant. The public is advised to avoid close contact with infected individuals, regularly wash their hands with soap and water, and avoid direct contact with wild animals, which may carry the disease. By following these precautions, the ministry hopes to reduce the risk of further infections and protect public health.

The government further stated that it is committed to safeguarding the health of its citizens and will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.
