Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has set the record straight on his academic qualifications after various netizens questioned his suitability as a leader and legislator in Kenya.
While on the Obinna Show yesterday, the UDA stalwart stated that he never went to school as alleged due to poverty, which is why he started working at the age of 15 because he could not afford school fees.
“This is the reason why I am so passionate about assisting students who have passed but cannot afford their schooling. It is my duty to support them with bursaries, and if they cannot access funds from the kitty, I use my salary to help,” said Oscar Sudi. “I have assisted several students in Kapseret and Uasin Gishu County. Some we started supporting from Class 1 and are now in Class 8. There are also those we began helping in Class 8 who are now close to Form Four,” he added.
Several people had accused Oscar of not meeting the requirements to run for a member of parliament and had challenged him to produce classmates who attended school with him. He was unable to do so, which is why he felt it necessary to set the record straight. Despite not having attended school, he has been an influential figure and is currently pursuing a diploma as part of his educational journey.
