A leading anti-Ruto taxes protester Shad Khalif is missing after being abducted in South B, Nairobi. His abduction took place on Sunday evening in what seems to be an emerging series of kidnapping against opponents of the bill proposed by the Kenya Kwanza government. Before Khalif was abducted, unknown figures had been tailing him.
Prior to his abduction, armed men had also abducted and released Dr. Austin Omondi, another,medical doctor who had volunteered to establish a blood bank to assist victims that would be affected by the protests on Tuesday.
The situation is still tense as countrywide demos and protests against the Finance Bill continue with millennials and gen z planning to block main roads leading to Nairobi and proceed down to State House under the hashtag #OccupyStateHouse1.
Despite the mounting pressure on members of Parliament and the executive, President William Ruto has called for a dialogue with young people to understand their issues and help find solutions, aiming to create a united country.
