President William Ruto has issued a stern warning to protesters planning to continue causing mayhem and chaos across the country, stating that enough is enough and he will no longer condone any demonstrations.
Ruto spoke during a church service in Chabango, Bomet County, warning the planners and inciters that he will protect the country from any disruptions caused by individuals who claim to be protesting peacefully but are, in reality, destroying other people’s property.
“Enough is enough! I will protect the nation going forward. They called me to X spaces, and when I joined them, they disappeared. They told me to do away with the finance bill; I threw it away. I have reached out for dialogue with everyone, and everybody has spoken. We shall continue to resolve our issues using the constitutionally created institutions because Kenya is a democracy,” said President Ruto.
This statement comes just a few hours after youth groups threatened to convene and continue protesting against the government.
The protests are in response to the reappointment of six cabinet secretaries back to the cabinet, despite their previous dismissal from their respective ministries.
The government’s decision has sparked outrage among the youth, who see it as a disregard for accountability and proper governance.
President Ruto’s firm stance indicates his commitment to maintaining order and upholding the principles of democracy.
