President Ruto Appoints New Parastatals

New appointments have been made in the government by President William Ruto.

Moses Cheboi, a former Kuresoi MP, was named by Ruto as the Chairperson of the Advocates Complaints Commission in a gazette notice published on Friday, April 28. With effect from April 27, 2023, the former deputy speaker of the National Assembly will hold office for three (3) years.

“I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Moses K. Cheboi to be the Chairperson of the Advocates Complaints Commission, for three, effective 27th April 2023,” the notice states.

Cheboi was defeated by Alfred Mutai in the general election of 2022 for the immediate Kuresoi North parliamentary seat. Previously, Mutai served as an MCA member of the Nakuru County Assembly. He served as the ward’s representative from 2017 to 2022.

Joseph Gitonga Limbine has also been selected by President Ruto to serve as the board chair of the Nyayo Tea Zones Development Corporation. With effect from April 27, 2023, he will hold the job for a term of three (3) years. The Gazette Notice No. 8005 of 2022, which had Elizabeth Pantoren listed as the corporation’s chair, was canceled by the head of state.

President Ruto also made the adjustments of appointing Peter Ereri Nyaga, Collins Odote Oloo (Professor), Mueni Kalola (Ms. ), and Patrick Maina Muriuki as Commissioners of the Advocates Complaints Commission. They will hold office for three years.
