President Ruto Back In The Country From His Germany Visit

President William Ruto on Thursday arrived in the country after his four-day visit to Germany and Belgium.

The Head of State was welcomed by his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Ruto left the country on Sunday for a visit that mainly focused on reinforcing Kenya’s commitment to the Kenya – EU Strategic Dialogue and enhancing the partnership between Kenya and the European Union.

He met President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in talks aimed at strengthening the bilateral relations between Kenya and Germany.

Ruto also delivered a bold and noteworthy address at the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue, calling for massive investment in renewable energy in Kenya and Africa at large because of the progressive energy security challenges that has faced the aforementioned areas.

During the German visit, Kenya also explored a partnership with Germany on the youth agenda, specifically in vocational education and training.

Ruto also met Alexander De Croo, Prime Minister of Belgium, with whom he outlined mutual areas of interest including health, Kenya’s food security and drought response, climate action, trade and investment.
