Azimio La Umoja supporters who thronged Nairobi CBD today morning for the alleged #maandamano have lit fires across City major roads, blocking motorists from accessing the town.
The protests which were called by ODM party leader Raila Odinga escalated with police attempts to lob teargas at protestors leading to running battles.
The former prime minister had indicated to his supporters that today was a date with the destiny and will march with them to the statehouse to fight for reduction of the price of basic commodities among other demands.
According to the eyewitnesses within the CBD, several Azimio MPs have already been arrested in an effort to counter the demonstration and to protect the lives and property of Kenyan citizens going on with their daily businesses.
