UDA Sets September 20 for Party Nominations Ahead of By-Elections

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has announced that it will conduct its party nominations on September 20, 2025, in preparation for the upcoming by-elections.

In a statement, the ruling party invited interested aspirants to submit their applications through the party’s online portal, with the registration period running from August 14 until September 5 at 5:00 p.m. The process will determine the party’s flag bearers for various elective seats.

UDA has outlined the non-refundable nomination fees, with Members of County Assembly (MCA) aspirants required to pay KSh50,000 for male candidates and KSh25,000 for women, youth, and persons with disabilities (PWD).

For parliamentary and Senate positions, male aspirants will pay KSh250,000, while women, youth, and PWD will be charged KSh125,000.

The party said the nomination exercise will be conducted in accordance with its constitution and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) guidelines, adding that it is committed to ensuring a free, fair, and transparent process.

The by-elections follow recent vacancies declared in various constituencies and wards across the country. UDA’s early announcement is expected to give aspirants ample time to prepare their campaigns ahead of the nomination and polling dates.
