Two people have perished in a tragic road accident involving a bus registered under Mash Poa and a Mercedes-Benz trailer in Taru town, along the Mombasa Nairobi highway.
Preliminary investigations gathered by the police and eyewitnesses indicate that the driver of the trailer failed to maintain his lane, forcing the bus to veer off of the road, resulting in the accident. 20 other passengers who were fatally injured, including two minors, have been taken to Samburu County Hospital for treatment as the bodies of two deceased were moved to Kinango Hospital mortuary.
According to the national police service, drivers need to exercise caution and drive carefully during this festive season to avoid such cases.
“The National Police Service is urging motorists to follow traffic laws this holiday season in order to avoid road accidents.” read the statement issued by the police service.
