Tensions at Bomas as Angry Goons Heckle Activist Morara Kebaso Hurling Seats at Him

Tensions have erupted at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi, paralyzing the ongoing exercise on public participation on the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

The exercise was running smoothly until the lawyer-turned-activist Morara Kebaso gained entry at Bomas, that was already crowded with Kenyans who had availed themselves to participate in the exercise. The presence of activist Morara together with his youthful team, ensued a wave of tension as a set of rowdy goons began outpouring their angry at the young lawyer, hurling chairs aiming at the activist forcing him to run for his life.

The footage obtained by African Watch, displays Morara scampering for safety as endless objects including chairs were being pelted on him and his team. This forced the delegates who had already settled at Bomas to halt the exercise for a moment, to give room for police officers who were readily available, to intervene.

Moments later, the young activist, while speaking on the unexpected incident via his Facebook and X-account, explained the stiff opposition he started getting while trying to access into the Bomas premise.

“I was barred from entering Bomas at the gate. When I finally got in, I was denied the mic on Bomas floor. Chaos erupted.”

He also disclosed about the injuries he has sustained throughout the wrangles that encountered him, revealing his immediate intent to visit a health facility where he revealed that he’s already receiving treatment.

“I am hurt. Headed to hospital. I live to speak another day,” read part of his statement.

The wrangles have just hit on him after clearly stating earlier, that he doesn’t support the motion seeking to impeach DP Gachagua. According to Morara, both the President and his Deputy were elected as one by the people of Kenya terming the impeachment of the DP alone as very inconsequential. Rather, he demands for the impeachment of the latter
