Sifuna Dismisses Raila’s Demand Letter From Chebukati

According to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, the legal action taken by attorney Steve Ogolla on behalf of retired IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati against Azimio Chief Raila Odinga will result in nothing. On Wednesday, Sifuna said on Twitter that “apart from legal bills, nothing else will come from that legal trip.”

“Steve Ogolla is only engaging in what attorneys do best. assisting Chebukati in spending the huge retirement sum that the taxpayer provided, “added the senator.

This comes after city attorney Steve Ogolla sent Raila a letter of demand requesting the immediate release of video evidence of the former chairman’s visit to his residence.

In response to Ogolla’s claim at the Sunday Jacaranda rally that Chebukati and former Commissioners Abdi Guliye and Boya Molu visited his home prior to the General Elections, Chebukati vowed to sue Raila on behalf of Ogolla.

The Azimio chief further asserted that he has evidence that the commissioners requested him for a little favor. Chebukati, however, refuted Raila’s allegations. The letter states, “Our instructions are to demand from you, as of right, which we thus do, to be given with the alleged video evidence within seven days of the date hereof. In the circumstances of your charges, and in the context of our client’s vigorous opposition thereto. Ogolla will seek to file a lawsuit against Raila if the seven days he was given to submit the video footage elapses without him doing so.
