Ruto: Unga Prices Will Decrease Starting Next Week

According to President William Ruto, the price of unga will decrease starting the following week.

Ruto stated that imported maize will arrive in Kenya tomorrow (Saturday) while speaking in the Machakos county on Friday.

“I am aware that the high cost of living remains a problem. You are aware that Unga is only found in the Shamba and not in stores. Start with the Shamba when trying to fix the Unga problem, he advised.

He answered, “The flour I imported will be here by the end of tomorrow.”

Unga is presently sold in supermarkets and retail stores at a price range of Sh150 to Sh250. Ruto promised to maintain a balance between flour produced locally and flour imported from abroad.

As the first imports of maize arrived last month, agriculture CS Mithika Linturi promised Kenyans a big decrease in Unga pricing.

He acknowledged that the nation had received the initial shipment of rice and maize imports, which he stated would significantly reduce the country’s current deficit.
