Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has today revealed that the region has moved on.
Gachagua was impeached from the deputy position a few months ago and has since engaged in politics of calling the bad things his former boss, William Ruto, has been doing. He has also been meeting different political leaders in an effort to try and come up with a coalition that will go against Ruto in 2027. He has since been replaced by Kithure Kindiki, who served as the cabinet secretary for interior affairs.
Speaking during a Sunday church service, Gachagua said the Mt. Kenya region has been betrayed but has since moved on.”In the Mt. Kenya region, we hate betrayal. Betrayal in this community is a taboo. It is one act against the community that is not forgiven, and once you do it, there is no remedy. So the mountain has moved on, though humiliated and in shame.” He said.
The former Mathira legislator is rumoured to be in talks with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who in the last weeks has been saying Ruto is the one conducting the extrajudicial killings and pretends he is unaware of them. Yesterday Martha Karua revealed she does not feel sorry for Gachagua as he abused his power when in office.
