Raila Odinga Breaks Silence After Loosing African Union Seat

Raila Odinga has broken his silence after losing the AUC seat.

In what was a majorly anticipated election for the former prime minister, he was hit with a major shock after loosing to Djibouti’s Foreign Minister Mahmoud Youssouf.Odinga won the first round but went on to lose the following rounds. Raila conceded defeat and congratulated his competitor. The majority of the Kenyans rejoiced through social media platforms, while several political leaders allied to both Raila Odinga and William Ruto expressed frustrations on social media pages.

Odinga has now broken his silence as he thanked William Ruto for campaigning for him and trusting him. “President Ruto did everything possible to make the campaign a success. We were ready to win, but other factors came about, which you will get to hear about soon,” Raila said. The ODM party leader cautioned his supporters against laying blame on anybody for his loss. “There should be no blame games after this. I conceded defeat and congratulated my opponent. I am not regretting. I am walking with my head held high. There will be another time and other things to do,” he added.
