President William Ruto has hinted at extending the term limit beyond 2027.
As we head towards the 2027 general elections, political temperatures in the country have begun to rise. Over the past few years since he took over the office at the 2022 elections.Ruto, under his administration of the Kenya Kwanza administration, has been accused of leading the country in the wrong direction while the Kenyan economy continues to go bad. Back in June last year, Gen Z took to the streets to demonstrate against the plans to introduce the financial bill 2024, something that would have affected the youths in the near future. There have also been abductions in the last few weeks of social media users who have been critical of the administration.
President William Ruto has hinted at running for more than two terms. “There are some people talking about a one-term presidency. Some say two terms, others three.I want to remind them that not long ago, there were those who doubted I’d even have a single term. But who is God? I am grateful that he has granted me the opportunity to serve as Kenya’s president. He said.
In the last meeting held in Uasin Gishu, Ruto hinted that he does not see any competition for him in the 2027 reelection bid.
