President Ruto Leaves The Country For Queen Elizabeth II’s Burial In London

William Ruto today on Sunday morning departed the country accompanied by Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro, for his first official visit to the United Kingdom and United States of America since assuming office of the President.

The Head of State is among 500 world leaders expected to grace the state funeral of late Queen Elizabeth II scheduled for Monday at West Minister Abey in London.

After the service, Ruto will head for New york, USA where he will meet Joe Biden and other state officials for the 77th session United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to discuss issues on promotion of sustained economic growth, human rights, international peace and security, social and legal matters as well as development of Africa.

The UNGA meeting is held annually in New York at the UN Headquarters, however in the year 2021 and 2020 the proceedings were done virtually due to Covid-19. This year, it commenced on September 13, same day of the swearing in of President Ruto and is scheduled to run until September 20.
